Head over to Trezor.io/start, your starting point for a secure setup. This page will guide you through each step to prepare your device and manage your assets securely.
The Trezor Suite is a desktop application where you’ll manage your wallet. Here’s how to get it:
Download Trezor Suite: Available for Windows, macOS, and Linux, this software gives you secure access to your wallet.
Install and Open the Application: Follow the simple installation prompts to complete the setup.
Trezor Suite is your personal hub for sending, receiving, and managing cryptocurrencies. You can also use the web version, but the desktop version offers an added layer of security.
Use the USB cable provided with your Trezor to connect it to your computer. You’ll see prompts both on your device and within the Trezor Suite to help you complete each step.
When you first connect your Trezor, it may ask you to install firmware. This software keeps your device secure and up-to-date. Follow the prompts to install it, and once it’s done, disconnect and reconnect your device if prompted.
After the firmware installation, you’ll be ready to set up your new wallet. This is where the magic happens!
Create a new wallet: Select this option to generate your unique recovery seed.
Write down your recovery seed: Your Trezor will display a 12, 18, or 24-word recovery seed. This is the way to recover your wallet if you lose access to your device. Write it down and store it in a secure place.
Tip: Never share this seed with anyone, and don’t save it online.
Adding a PIN and passphrase adds an extra layer of security.
Set up a PIN: Choose a secure PIN to lock your device. This protects your wallet even if someone physically accesses your device.
Optional: Set a passphrase: This feature gives you an additional level of encryption. It’s recommended for advanced users looking for top security.
Now you’re ready to add cryptocurrency accounts to your wallet!
Go to “Accounts” in Trezor Suite and select the coins you wish to store. Trezor supports a wide range of cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and more.
You can now send and receive funds right from Trezor Suite, and track your assets’ performance.
Keep your recovery seed safe: Consider storing it in multiple secure locations, and avoid online storage.
Verify details on the Trezor screen: When making transactions, check addresses and amounts on the Trezor display to avoid phishing attempts.
Stay updated: Check for firmware updates to keep your Trezor protected.
